As general manager of the agricultural division for Collier Cobb and Associates, Alabama, he had complete responsibility for an operation that included 2,000 acres ofrow crops, 700 cows and 5,000 swine. As a consultant to Chesapeake International Corporation he developed management plana for the companys large ranch and farm operations in South America. Gay waa the first extension range management specialist at New Mexico State University, traveling throughout the state to work with ranchers and county agents to develop ranch and rangeland management plans.
