F Herb Gillespie Attorney recovers at home from leg problem By Aldon Rachelt He will be treated with antibiotics for 4 2 weeks by Uintah Basin Home Health, and Gillespie said, Hopefully the antibiotics will knock out the inflection in my knee. He is also receiving daily physical therapy, and is learning to get around on clutches plus being careful for several weeks. Gillespie hopes to return to part-tim- e work at the county attorney office within a week or so, and is currently doing some work at home. T hope to be back as soon as I am able, his said. Tm grateful to my excellent secretary Debbie Mitchell and hard working deputy county attorney, Roland Uresk, who has taken on a tremendous additional load. He also expressed appreciation to all who have helped him and his family. 1-- Duchesne County Attorney Herb Gillespie is probably thinking, There has to be a better way to celebrate a holiday! Gillespie was admitted to the Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt on St. Valentines Day, February 14 and then released from the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City on St Patricks Day, March 17. He is recovering at home from cellulitis, an inflammation in his right leg. Gillespie said that his leg swelled up from the foot to the thigh and then became red and fiery hot He was given antibiotics at the LDS Hospital and surgery was done in the calf area in order to dean out the infection. WATER A week or two earlier, Gillespie said that he had been suffering from a sore knee and a fever similar to having the flu. Dr. Smith made a home visit. Soon alter he was taken to the Uintah Basin Medical Center. Gillespie was then transported by ambulance to the LDS Hospital on March 5. In between St. Valentines Day and St Patricks Day, Gillespie celebrated his 48th birthday. The UBMC staff and Dr. Smith took great care of me. On my birthday I went to the lobby to have a family birthday party and when I came back they had decorated my room with balloons, cute little signs, streamers and all sort of neat stuff. It was a very memorable and special birthday with my family and the people in the hospital, Gillespie said. Gillespie's mother, Barbara, came from California to help out her son. Herb, and he has been using his free time to become reacquainted with his children. I have been making sure everyone gets their piano practice done, and have also been doing some law work plus I was able to cheer for the University of Utah at the NCAA Tournament, he said. According to Guinn, the men were in the process of repairing a leak to the oil tank when an unknown source ignited oil on the ground. The flames consumed two 400 barrel production tanks and a 100 barrel water tank. There were 340 bar-rel- s of oil on site, Guinn said. The fire burned for approximately four hours. The fire was contained inside the burins and did not spread to other equipment on the location, Guinn stated. The Myton City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
