She was bom September 1, 1921 in Bennett to John Parry and Frances Horrocks Bowen. She married James Sherwood Butterfield on September 1, 1942 in the Salt Lake. LDS Temple. She worked as a volunteer hostess at the Beehive House and was a member of the DUP. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, she served in various capacities in both ward and stake organizations. She received her Golden Gleaner Award and enjoyed doing genealogy and temple work. In addition to serving as a PTA President she also enjoyed doing handwork, ceramics and oil painting. Gwendolyn traveled extensively throughout the world. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family greatly and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Herriman; sons and their spouses, Clinton S. and Cathy Butterfield; Cloyd J, and Paulette Butterfield; Cleon P. and Mard Butterfield, all of Herriman; daughter and her spouse, Judy and Alan Funk, Bountiful; one great 22 grandchildren; grandson; sisters, Mrs. Mark L.
