Final scores were Altamont 69, Monument Valley 66; and Altamont Valley 73, Monticello 67. According to the Longhorn coach, Scott Brown the team played well all three nights. They played Monument Valley to earn a berth in region finals on Thursday. Friday they played Monticello at region, and Saturday they went head to head with Duchesne for the championship. Charlie Lamb was high score man in the games, Thursday and Friday. He scored 28 points against Monument Valley, and 24 points against Monticello. Gary Sorenson scored 15 points against Monument Valley, and Chad Orme scored 10. Against Monticello, Orme put in 12 points worth, and Jason Brotherson added 13. Altamonts shooting percentages were very good, with 75 percent from the free throw line both nights. The Longhorns will be pitted against North Summit for their first state championship game. The game is scheduled for Wednesday night at 9 p.m. at the Marriott Center in Provo. The outcome of that game will determine their schedule for the rest of the tournament. in Uintas Shamrock and American Quazar companies proposed to develop o3 reserves in the Lone Peuk, and Table Hickey Mountain Mountain areas in Wyoming's Uinta County and bordering areas in Utah's Summit County. The areas in both states provide winter and summer ranges for elk and are popular with big game hunters. The Bureau of land Management will assess the overall environmental impacts. Big game biologists will monitor elk migration, calving areas and elk use of summer and winter ranges. Wildlife officials in both slates are concerned that road construction and other oil development activities could be detrimental to the elk resource. Other wildlife in Lhe area include mule deer, moose, antelope, hawks, eagles, and countless small birds and mammals. Elk tracking segments of the study are expected to start in two or three weeks. A number of elk will be captured and fitted with radio collars. Elk movements will then be traced year round from Utah DWK aircraft equipped with microcomputer on-boa- tracking systems. K x Provo..
