Show March UINTAH BASIN STANDARD, Gardner to celebrate birthday Sociaette . Club When one reaches the major milestones of life, one deserves to celebrate. Rose Z. Gardner is celebrating one of those milestones, her ninetieth birthday. An open house honoring Rose will be held on Saturday, March 8, at the Neola LDS Ward Cultural Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. She is the mother of six children: LaMar Gardner, of Neola: Darrol Gardner, of Thelma Springville; Orr, of California; LeRoy Gardner, of Neola: Lynn Gardner, of Neola; and Virginia Labrum, of Conga Park, California. Chino, Rose Z. Gardner is celebrating her ninetieth birthday with an open house on March 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Neola's Ward Altrus Club i The Socialette Club of Roosevelt is continuing their unique fund raising project for the Roosevelt Swimming Pool cover. The cooperative project between the Club and Stewarts Thriftway, whereby food and household product coupons are redeemed at the store and the customer donates the discount to the swimming pool project is proving ' quite successful The Club members want to thank the shoppers of this area for the support and ask that they continue to utilize the coupon method for making donations to this worthy project. In addition to the review of the coupon project, other agenda matters of the February meeting r - of the Club at the home of Carol Johnson included a report on the progress of the new library building ,to be constructed in Roosevelt. Brad Hancock, Roosevelt City Manager, reviewed the current plans and answered questions about the facilities and equipment. He reported that con-- , struction is planned to begin in the near future and will continue into the summer. After a salad luncheon was served, the members proceeded to the new middle school nearing in Roosevelt and completion toured that facility. Anyone wishing to contribute coupons to the Club for the pool project are requested to please contact any of the following assigned members: Janet Snow, Nancy West, Phyllis Bergquist, Mary Morten sen, Carolyn Kriss-maTeresa Winterton, Viriene Meifu, Jennifer Seeley, or any other club member that they may be acquainted with. News 4-- H The Neola group held a meeting on February 26 at 7 p.m. in the Neola School. 4--H Altrus Club was held at the home of Joyce Dennis with Bobbie Winterton as on February 27. A patriotic theme was carried out with the red stars and miniture flags as center pieces on the tables. President Lois Betts conducted the business portion of the meeting. She welcomed Brenda Osborne as a new member and informed members that Erma Stewart had also accepted an invitation to join Altrus. Treseder. communication and presented a program for teaching children to build relationships, develop trust and share meaningful experiences. The author had a systematic approach with easy creative games to teach children of all ages to stop quarreling, eliminate ' put downs, show kindness, build each other, develop self esteem, develop social skills and lead others. A total of 21 members were present for the songs, games and demonstrations. Brandon Patterson won the most beautiful car, Abe Williams won the nicest paint job; 1st place winner in the race was Clint Atwood; 2nd place winner was Monte Roberts and the 3rd place winner was Jeramy Bristol. They spent Wednesday with the Veil and Marie Ropers. The four drove to Rangely, Colorado to visit with Grant and Sybil Peel and family. e The Blue and Gold Banquet was held February 26. The Cub Scouts and their parents enjoyed a fun evening at the Altamont Church. Many awards were given and the fathws and sons had a fun time together making a cake and then they were sold at the banquet. The theme was knights of the round table. Sterling Roberts went to St. George to attend a wedding of one of his missionary friends. He visited in Provo with his brother Brent Roberts and his family and another of his companions, Mike Watts. They went to the Provo Temple on Saturday. Calvin and Jennie Roberts are moving the log house of Ron Miles (the old Robert A. Murray home). They will be moving it down to the ranch site of Dean Roberts where they will make it into a home for Calvin and Jennie. Its Your Life - How Are You Going to Live It? Of the. 456 total employees hired by Tyger, 125 are veterans. Total employees hired in 985, was 384 and total amount ot veterans was 85.
