Moon Lake circulates small business rates The fee schedule for small commercial consumers was circulated by Moon Lake Electric Association last month. "Actually, the rates have been the 'oe since January," paid Stve A. Claim, general manager for the company. Before that we used block rate billing. Now it's broken down to strictly customer charge and one flat rate per kiloWall hour. Claim explained that small business-nesse- s pay at least a S15 monthly customer charge. This fee covers overhead maintenance, rebuilding, etc., and Moon Lake Electric divides the rosi among all consumers. Residents pay $7.50. In addition to the customer charge, consumers pay .048(58 cents per kiloWatt hour. KiloWalt hour is the measure of electricity used that goes through the meter," Claim said. Small business commercial rates apply to all commercial consumers whose load requirments do not exceed 50 kilo Volt Amps (kval of transformer capacity, and to residents who earn 50 home-rupercent of their income in a business. Overhaul for Duchesne City water wells Two of the six well pumps that produce water for Duchesne City broke down Wednesday evening, July 15. Mayor Ed Browning said they hope to have them fixed by Thursday, Julv 23. Until the well pumps are fixed, Duchesne City residents have been asked to water only in the evenings. Mayor Browning said the city should not experience any problems as long as residents conserve water. When all six well's pumps are working, they produce 750,000 gallons of water a day. With two of these pumps broken, the dty loses about 250,000 of these gallons. Initially it was suspected that one well motor needed an overhaul and the other had a broken shaft. But now it appears that both motors need an overhaul, said Mayor Browning. Tax notices out July 30 Valuation notices should be in the to Duchesne County residents by July 30, said Jessie Peatross, County Assessor. Valuation notices should have been out in May, but the County had to wait for the State to finish their reappraisal, said Peatross. Most assessments will double because of the recent property reappraisal by the State, she said. County residents are urged to attend the Board of Equalization meetings after receiving their valuation notices, where problems or discrepancies can be handled. mail e e 1. Some consumers are billed according to a specified charge in a service contract. When the company provides extra services, such as installing new lines, customers pay some of the cost each month with their electric bill, rather than paying ail at once as soon as the project is completed, Glaim said. 2. We're asking for a cost of living increase on our salary schedule, said Lamar Mower, a teacher at Altamont High school who is representing the teachers during negotiations. I feel good about the meeting," said tawell Caldwell, Duchesne County Srhool Superintendent. Each group made a proposal and we're taking it under advisement. The City and Tribe had an agreement wh.ch was operational until March 31. I.iat agreement required Roosevelt City to pay 15 cents for every 1.000 gallons they purchased. At the time the old agreement expired, the Tribe informed Roosevelt City lhat they would now have to pay 40 cents for each 1,000 gallons of water used. At that time Roosevelt City requested additional information regarding the decision to go with the 40 cents per 1.000 gallon charge. Last week Roosevelt received another proposal which reiterated the 40 cent charge. The City again requested additional information. This time, however, Roosevelt also mailed a check for water use based on the charge of 15 cents, emphasizing that this was not total payment, but partial payment until the City and the Tribe came to an agreement on water costs.
