While the movie waa being filmed In the Mirror Lake area, caat, crew and families were put up at Park City. They really treated ua royally, aaid Mra. DeHerrera. The production company of Wind- . walker set out to create a realistic atmosphere of how the Indian people of old lived. To this end, all of the dialogue in the movie is of the Cheyenne and Crow Indian tongues. Further, all of the lead actors, save one, are of Indian descent. Dress, customs, even day to day living ia portrayed with an accuracy uncommon mill Hollywood to the run-of-th- e production. The famous British actor, Trevor Howard, plays the lead role. All of the actors in the film received expert coaching from Indian language experts in order to fulfill their a peaking roles. Little Roberta learned the language juat like her much older and more' counterparts. acting experienced Howard, who has a British Oscar and an American Oscar nomination to his credit, haa called the role The moat challenging of my career. His career spans nearly 60 years of acting. a solve the language English problem. English narration fills in elsewhere. Although there ia some violence in the movie, hence ita PG rating, there are also some very tender momenta. Family devotion is shown perhaps as strongly aa any movie dealing with Indiana ever haa. The film's strongest force is its photography. Both the location shots and de interior work shows great care for artistry. It has already won , the best film award from the Native American Film Festival, says Regina DeHerrera. We are sincerely hoping for Oscar consideration. Director Merrill, an Oscar winner, is a native Utahn, as are most of the crew and production people. The movie is an adaptation of the book by Blaine A. Yorgason, Orem. The film is being distributed by Pacific International and is that company's largest production ever. aub-title- COEOTEOTUWOTV CALENDAR WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 26-2- - l ' i,: 12 Standard Thursday, November 27, 1980 Uintah Baain ' ' ' ' " - Roberta got the part by accident, explains the tiny actress mother.
