There will be amateur operators manning a communication poet during UBIC in the Rooeevelt City park on Friday August 8 and Saturday, August 9. The communication exercise will have a two-fol- d purpoee. It will permit visitors of the UBIC to send messages to friends and relatives throughout the United States and to service personal overseas. At the same .time, the communications exercise will permit the Borderline Amateur Radio Club to test emergency communication sys- tems. Convenient forms and several specially prepared message texts will be available at the communication booth. A personal message of up to twenty words in length may be sent along with any of the standard texts. The radiografn messages will be relayed directly from the UBIC by amateur shortwave to other amateur stations throughout the nation.
