Redd, will be married Aug. 15 in' the Salt Lake LDS daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Truman, and Robert John Page, aon of Mr. and Mrs. Zane Asay and the late John S. Page, will be married Aug. 8 In the Provo LDS Temple. Miss Truman is a 1973 graduate of Union high schooL She attended BYU where ahe majored in elementary education. She will be teaching at Todd elementary this coming year. Mr. Page 'graduated from Union high school in 1973. He nerved a mission in the Canada-Halifa- x Mission. He graduated from Utah Techni- -' cal College in 1975 as a diesel mechanic. There will be an open house Friday, Aug. 8, from p.m. at 63 N. 400 W. in Orem. Wednesday night the ML Pleasant Third Ward gave her a surprise party. Friday and Saturday her family held a two-da- y reunion in her honor, with games, programs, and dinner. Every member of her family wore matching with her picture and name on them. Saturday evening the town of ML Pleasant had an open house for her and the Mayor proclaimed Sunday, July. 20, as "Annie Brotherson Day. . She still lives in her own home and takes care of it and her flowers. Mrs. Brotherson married William N. Brotherson July 17, 1907, in the Manti Temple. Four years - later they homesteaded land in the Uintah Basin and here she raised her family of six children Pioneer Trek has challenges Young adults are being invited to experience the challenges faced by the 'sneers in a special section of igham Young Universitys Pioneer Trek Aug. The section of the has been planned to ate the sesquicentennL Church. Participants, ages 18 through 30, will form a handcart company to hike in the mountains east of Provo for four and one-hadays of pioneer trials and fun. Pioneer Trek helps the participants to appreciate the struggles of the pioneers - physically, emotionally and said Keven Hanson, spiritually, director of the program, which was begun six years ago as part of the BYU Wilderness Adventures Program. Groups of 10 persons are assigned to handcart for the trip through the mountains to the base camp. One day at the base camp is fun ana a devoted to dinner featuring a turkey steamed at the camp site. Treks are held all through the summer by Wilderness Adventures, but most are aimed at younger groups 8 of teenagers. Ross on his 80th birthday will be held at the Tridell Chapel Saturday, Aug. 9 from 8 p.m. Mr. Ross was born in Glines Aug. 6, 1900, to Stephen M. and Margarett (Maggie) Wardle Ross. He moved with his family to the Tridell area at the age of six, where he lived and helped his family pioneer the area. He was herding sheep back in the Baldie Mts. at the age of twelve. He farmed in the Uintah Basin for many years and worked in the timber and mining business. He retired from Zugler ' Chemical Co., in 1966. ' He loves hunting and fishing and , working with horses.
