The project will be finished later this summer, and when the entire project is finished it will be able to supply a populo--. tion of 1 1 ,000 with adequate water. Natural gas pipeline to serve Uintah Basin wells The Pacific Gaa Transmission Company and the Pacific Gas and Electric Company of San Francisco, California, have filed a joint right-of-wapplication with the Bureau of Land Management in Utah for a h natural gas pipeline. The pipeline will be about 695 miles long and will extend from Wyoming through Utah and Nevada to southern California. According to John Stephenson, chief of ELMS project management staffi the purpose of the gas pipeline is to provide California gas consumers with direct and economic access to new supplies of natural gas from the central Rocky Mountain Region, primarily in the overthrust areas of northern Utah and southwestern Wyoming and the Uintah Basin. Both of these areas have great gas producing potential, but have limited pipeline access. This project can be expected to stimulate exploration and in these areas and development possible contribute to a significant increase in the nation's domestic natural gas production. ay 80-ine- According to the application, construction is proposed to begin in late 1981 or early 1982 and the delivery of gas would begin in late 1982. Budget Hearing A budget hearing will be held Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. to increase the 1980 budget and include therein unappropriated funds in the amount of $200,000.
