This year the parade will take place Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and will be headed by grand marshal Charles Bradshaw. Bradshaw was chosen to represent the citizens of Wellington for his devotion to the town end his love for its people. In fact, Bradshaw moved to Wellington in 1936 and has never left because he enjoys the town so much and he cant imagine living anywhere eke. When Bradshaw married, he we a Wellington native, Phyllis Burnett. Together they have raised five children. The Bradshaws have 25 grandchildren and six and a half great grandchildren whom visit the Wellington area on a regular basis. Throughout the years, Bradshaw has sang at many funerals, weddings, church and civic functions. He has always been active in the his church and was involved in the building of both chapels in town. Bradshaw has served in the Wellington city council and in the local PTA. with his wife Phyllis, the twosome were chairmen of the city improvement committee for severe! years. They also served a mission together in Alberti Canada in 1992. After working at Safeway for 20 years, Bradshaw then moved on to work as a manager at Deseret Industries until his retirement in 1991. After retiring, Bradshaw started making weird bikes which his grandchildren love to ride in the Wellington Pioneer Day Parades. His idea of a great retirement is spending time at his home along with his wife in Wellington where their numerous grandchildren visit on a regular basis. Because of his commitment to the city of Wellington, Bradshaw has been named grand marshal of the parade this year.
