The The junior high basketball teams wrapped up the season last week with the junior vanity tournament The previous week the vanity teams finished the successful season off with the varsity tournament Local junior high teams competed in the tournaments which found the two local junior highs on top of several different games. Marquette Putts had a terrific tournament showing. Potts was named to the all tourney team for her brilliant performance. Every game the team played, the sheer determination was obvious, while the excitement each girl felt during competition spread like wildfire throughout the gymnasiums. The girls, who lost to Canyon View in the championship game, have also had a tremendous season and look forward to returning next year and playing for the Mont Harmon, team. The boys varsity team also had a good showing at the region tournament The team finished in third place after losing to Can- ment, they did have an extraordinary season. The Helper boys on the other hand, did fair quite well at the junior high tournaments. The athleticism and sportsmanship showed by the teams have far exceeded the junior high levels. Both meetings have found the Eagles on the losing end of the scoreboard. This fact does not discourage the Eagles however. The team is looking forward to the post season tournament where the team will try to complete the season victorious. r is offi-- Eastem Utah Golden Eagles. The team has competed in several games in the past month, but the Eagles will play for the first time at home on Friday. The Eagles will open up the weekend with two games on Friday and finish the weekend offwith two games on Saturday against Ricks College. This years team is young, however talented. We are solid at pitcher and nave quite a few talented batters, Returning for the Eagles this year is pitcher Joldy Witts who is. expected to be a main player for the Eagles offense. Also, pitcher Patrick Wells is expected to contribute quite well to the Eagles of- fense at the mound.
