Contracted or salary. Eligible candidates contact Steve, toll free wants to extend pavement one mile past its present ending at the entrance ofthe Forest. The County will be repaving the road up to the Forest boundary, and hopes to continue further uphill. The road segment above the Forest line ia graveled, but ateep and with sharp turaa. Historically, it has been a high maintenance segment aa a result of its grade. The hardening of the surface will reduce future road maintenance costa, and finishing work now, as an extension to an exiating project, would reduce paving coats. Ilia benefits to the Forest Service are reduced annual maintenance payments and increased public safety. Thia project would not require Forest Service funding. Anticipated environmental impacts from thia project are minor, since the work will remain within the exiating roadbed, but the County haa noted that they may need to reshape some banks to accommodate their equipment. It ia alao anticipated that hardening will reduce erosion and sedimentation problems. The MoabMonticello Ranger District needs public comments to help determine what other impacts could result from thia proposal.
