TEXAS VISITED BY SEVERE STORM texas vis ted by D sa storm dallas tex severa lives were lost and serious damage was done to crops in many sections of texas sun day night by the terrific wind and rain storm that prevailed in many eions streams are out of their banks ana bridges have been washed away in the northwest part ot haskell county fourteen houses were de strayed the two children of will bownds near mary were killed ana mrs bownds was found unconscious and will die mr bownds escaped with slight bruiser at malone the christian and baptist churches and several other buildings were wrecked at temple bertha henley t a 12 year old colored girl was killed by lightning at waco several houses were unroofed fort worth A heavy wind storm blowing at the rate of 70 miles an hour struck this city from the at 6 30 sunday night part of the west wall of the texas pacific passenger station was blown in and john young train de killed the storm was most severe west of the city and all telephone and tele graph wires in all directions are down A passenger on a texas pacific passenger train from the west reports that tho town of mineral wells was partly blown away one church build ing belonging to the african metho dist episcopal congregation was de polished moli shed many business buildings lost their roofs including the first national bank budding a seven story structure the baptist and episcopalian churches in north fort worth were badly wrecked while the roofs of the grand hotel in east weatherford street and the johnson house in west bluff street were torn away fifty dwellings in various parts of the city were damaged the second ward school building was partially wrecked the storm extended as far east as terrell but did no particular damage at that point
