but it hit her in the head which kept the ball in play for teammate Dupin to spike the ball for a CEU point This is only one of many times that Leech proved to be a heads up player (no pun intended) tried spiking the Eagles back into the game but she could get only one of her 14 spike attempts to score a point for the ladies Both teams began to make mistakes and the scores on both sides went up slowly With the score at 11-- 8 for the Spartans CEU began to make a run for the lead Pincombe picked up a big spike for the ladies and Leech contributed with two serving aces to get CEU their first lead of the game at 1 CNCC started playing well again and they soon pushed back out front Tadd hit another powerful spike for the Eagles and Pincombe followed it with a shot down the line to bring the ladies within one The Spartans scored again and so did the Eagles with a block by Leech and Pincombe Skaggs came up with a little tap over the net to tie the game up at 14s CNCC rallied for two poinu of their own and won 4 game three Game four started the same way game three did with the Spartans jumping out front with a 0 score CEU fought back behind the spiking 6-- 9-- ball Team work was strong for the Eagles throughout the game as teammates Pabst and Skaggs came up with another trig block Dupin also finished oil with a couple of good plays a strong spike in which she has shown throughout the game and a very good placement shot with a tap over the net to make the final score 15-- 9 for the Eagles CEU vs CNCC Oct 5 featured CEU and Colorado Northwestern Community College at the BDAC and the Eagles had another big turn out to cheer them on CNCC jumped out to the early 0 lead but that was very minimal CEU was to soon show us Dupin began the Eagle attack with her serving and was assisted by Tadd's spiking as they reeled off eight consecutive points Sksggs pitched in with some more of her dominating net appearance blocking a CNCC spike Tadd kept spiking the ball for CEU getting another call to go her way on a questionable call whether the ball wu in or not The Spartans slowed down the Eagles a little bit and came witn-i- n four point at 4 but Charisse Pincombe picked up a big spike to get CEU on the scoring side of the game again Dupin was later to make another big play as she gave up a spike and Upped the ball over the net in order not to run in to it Tadd also buttons during the time out because the Eagles and behind the spikes of Tadd fired out and grabbed the lead for good The Lady Eagles also beshow a lot of team play when to gan d Dupin Leech and Skaggs all for a tremendous block and were assisted by the great serving of Garcia and Skinner to get a 12-- 8 lead Pincombe later made a very heads up play when a Spartan player spiked the ball and she blocked it the ban went back on CNCC side and their setter hit the ball a little to far on CElTs side and Pincombe spiked it back over for a point Dupin added another spike for CEU but the Spartans tried to come back with a service ace That didn't seem to bother the Lady Eagles as Leech came in to serve for the final two poinu On the game ending point two CNCC players stood and watched the ball fall right between them and their hopes of a victory fell with it as the final score was 1 in favor of the Eacles CEU vs Ricks On Friday the 13th CEU wu hoping to dissolve of the unlucky feeling many people get on this day against a much bigger team in Ricks college Unfortunately it didn't turn out to be so In game one Ricks jumped out front very fut on the Eagles going up 0 CEU's big play came off a back row set by Dupin which resulted in a cross court spike from Pabst The referees made a very questionable call against the Eagles that took away that point a gave the ball back to Ricks From there on out the Vikings increased their lead to 1 and looked to be the best team on this night The only bright spou for CEU wu a deep spike by Pincombe and latter a block by Pincombe Sperry came off the bench to serve for two poinu and Skaggs added a couple of big plays of her own They were to no avail though Ricks rolled on to a 15-- 5 victory Pin-com- com-bin- 15-1- 4-- National Conference 11-- 8-- u In game two the Lady Eagles tried their best to tie up the match They jumped out front to a 0 lead behind the serving of Leech and a spike by Dupin off a Viking defender Tadd also came up with two big spikes down the line to help CEU hold their lead and suy in the ball game Ricks came right luck on them though to tie the game at 3-- With the score at 13-- 4 for the Eagles Sperry served an ace to get the ladies one point closer to a game one victory That wu soon to happen Skaggs came up with the game winning spike and a 1S-- S vic- u tory Coming into game two CNCC seemed though all the life wu drained out of them in game number one If that wu so the Eagles wuted no time taking advantage of that jumping out into a very big lead one dial the Spartans would never recover Cram Tadd started off with one of her powerful spikes that later proved to be one of eight she would get during die game This helped to support the serving duty of leam- - of Pincombe and Tadd and the strong
