In August, Utah car dealers sold 6,352 new automobiles, a 21 percent gain above the 5,248 new cars sold in July, and 54 percent above the number of cars sold in Aug- ust, 1976. Of the total, 4,294 cars were domestic models and 2,058 were foreign models. The foreign car share of the market continued to rise. August, foreign cars accounted for 32 percent of the total, which is up from July's 30 percent and 21 percent in August of last year. The top five domestic sellers in Utah were Chcvcr-let- .
