A hearing for summary judgement held last week afforded both defendant Zions and plaintiff Utah Attorney General an opportunity to argue before federal judge Aldon J. Anderson. He made no decision but took the matter under advisement. The drive-i- n extension of Zions Ogden main office is considered by the state to be a branch bank, and therefore in violation of state law which prohibits new branches in all cities but Salt Lake where a unit bank is established. Zions contends the bank is an extension, not a branch.
