CONGRESS FIRST DISTRICT Its time for the average American honestly believe that you can plan and live your life better than I can plan it for you. I to have a voice. BIOGRAPHY Bruce Bangcrtcr is a native of Salt Lake Conty. He is a graduate of Granite High School and a Political Srienre major at Brigham Young University. He has served in the United States Marine Corps and is currently employed in the construction trade. He is 34, married to the former Rueen Aebischer and is the father of three children. PLATFORM The average man in America today docs not think of himself in idealogical terms, such as liberal or conservative. Rather, he thinks in terms of the basic problems which confront him that affect his concepts, hopes and goals. He is proud to he an American. But the average man is concerned about the greatness of America. He is concerned about the disdain for nur Constitution, our national sovereignty, and the freedom for his posterity. He is concerned about the apathy of the American people; and is apathetic himself because there has been no logical choice for him at the polls. The average man is concerned about the new morality. He fears that our nation will fall as have others that have forsaken God. He is against open pornography, legalisation of marijuana, and leniency for criminals. He is against the aborting of the precious lives of unborn children. The average man is distressed about a war in Southeast Asia in which we refuse to either win or withdraw. He is concerned about a failing foreign policy that fails to change with new administrations. He is against foreign aid and the reduction of our own defense posture. The average man is concerned about the increasing tax burden and government spending. He is bitter about those onwelfare who refuse to work and the super rich who pay no taxes. Bruce Bangerter is for the average man. He owes no allegiance to any political party, financial supporter or pressure group. His allegiance is to God, his own conscience, the average American, and to the Constitution of the United States of America. State Chairman Dan Worthington 2145 S. The necessary alternative is either to reform one of the parties or to form a new one thereby maintaining the traditional two-part-y system. Since neither party will respond quickly enough to major surgery, the American Independent Party has been launched in Utah. The only right way that you, the voter, can protest against dangerous tendencies in America today is to vote against them. I look with contempt at a foreign policy which feeds, clothes, and technologically nurses an avowed enemy; of an administration that governs with the philosophy that the consumer must suffer from rising inflation by submitting to arbitrarily increasing governmental power through wage and price controls. Think for a moment on these questions. Does federal aid to schools, both public and parochial, result in increased quality and efficiency or is it rather a tactic aimed at increased governmental power? Dors the income tax monstrosity actually contribute to our freedom or does it simply consign to the government more of the fruits of your labor? Your must decide just how much power you will give to the government and how much power you will reserve to yourselves in determining your own destiny. You should have the freedom, responsibility and satisfaction from a life spent in service to your fellow men unencumbered by the audacity of the professional planners who feel that they can plan your life, spend your money, decide life and death, etc. Contemplating my service to you in Congress gives me a deep sense of humility. 3 Davis County Chairman 97 W. 1500 S. Bountiful 295-531- A native Utahn, born in Cedar City, I have lived in southern Utah most of my life. I am a graduate of Wayne High School, Brigham Young University and Washington University in St. Louis. My wife Ba and I have five children. I am past president of the Central Utah District Dental Society, past president of the Richfield PTA, member and leader in the John Birch Society, the LDS Church, and have served in various civic assignments. Paul Reveres historic freedom ride elicited two key responses, "Quick wife, hand me my gun while I put my pants on" and the nonchalant "Who is the nut making all the noise?" While Paul Revere garnered only 5 of the colonists in his fight, I am, on the other hand, more optomistic of the number of Americans willing to defend their freedoms. What kind of noise is in the world today? Time and pressing world, national and local events are exerting severe pressures on our struggle to preserve our freedom. Increasing intervention, drugs, governmental immorality and crime are making significant inroads in our country. These are real and problems that are affecting us and the lives of our children. But just as Revere was unpopular in calling for support against the British invasion force, so likewise arc those who are warning us of impending danger in America. Yet, as our presidential candidate has said, "The bearer of bad news is often blamed for the bad news." You may be awakened some evening by your dog barking at a burglar and blaming the dog for your discomfort your shoot him. Then you sleep with the assurance that you are safe. You are not really, your assurance is just an illusion. Much greater discomfort will come later. 4 i AMERICAN INDEPENDANT PARTY! i i i i i i i i i i i i i i i I want to help: Enclosed is $ I can work Send Information. Name Address, |
