Show THE CITIZEN 22 ALTA MINING DISTRICT HAS BRIGHT FUTURE Watson Has Great Confidence in Former Leading1 Mining Camp of State. Manager Geo. H. Watson of Geo. H. Watson & Company, dealers In Utah stocks and bonds, is confident that Alta will come back. At one time Alta was the most Important mining camp in Utah. Then there came a slump and a drifting to other camps, but Alta is returning. Although the ore deposits of the Alta ore zone have been productive for more than 60 years, it is only within the last six years that the importance fo the thrust-contahas become recognized, notwithstanding that at least one ore body was mined In this thrust-contac- t more than fourteen years ago in the old Columbus Consol idated, now the Wasatch Mines, but It was not until the strike of the rich in the ore made in the thrust-jcontac- t Cardiff mine, and more recently in the Coluxnbus-Rexaand Alta Merger world-fame- d mine that mining men and geologists realized that the thrust-contais probably the most significant geological factor in the deposition of high grade ore bodies in the Alta ore ct ll ct one. The comprehension of the extent and richness of the mineralization in the Cardiff mine has assisted materially in a realization of the importance of in other exploring this thrust-contaproperties in the Alta or zone to the south of the Cardiff. ct The Emma Silver mine was the big producer in Alta at one time. Much development is being done in this mine trying to locate the lost fissures from which so much ore was taken. While most of the mining districts of Utah have been moving in the even tenor of their way, digging out new wealth at the rate of about $6,000,000 a month, and adding to the general prosperity of the state, the Alta ore zone has suddenly sprung into the spotlight and its stocks today are commanding attention throughout the country. Anybody who knows the history of this old section, with its millions of production of copper, lead, silver and gold in early days, its gradual fading into the background, its utter neglect for years, yet with splendid potential probabilities, will not be at aU surprised that it at last is coming back into its own. That it has a number of big mines which under present conservative managements and with the present knowledge of the geology of this section will yield largely, is inevitable. Watson is one of the best informed mining men of the state and be is acquainted with the industrial history of all Utahs mining properties. If you want to know something about mining, look up Watson. He is located in the Hotel Utah. Mexicos most famous bull fighter is getting ready to enter politics. When he gets started he will realize that he has not seen anything It is said that yet.
