Superintendent Abplanalp reported that the Utah Symphony wifi perform three concerts in the Basin; two at Union high school during the day time and one evening performance in Duchesne on December 7. The district will have to pay for the evening performance, which is $1,500, which they hope to offset with ticket sales. The council met with the owners of the home. The owners will furnish the pipe if the city will do the digging and help install the L500 foot of drain field, in order to comply with the state health division requirements. Before this is done, however, a state specialist will be requested to run a percolation test on this property. In other action, the council voted unanimously to provide garbage pickup for all residents effective January 1, 1977. The state health department does not allow burning of garbage, and residents can be cited for this offense. The monthly rate for garbage pickup once each week is $3 per month, or 75 cents each week, which is added to the monthly utility bill sent out by the dty. Chief of Police Doug Horrocks reported that during the month of October, the police department had two burglaries, eight accidents, one recovered stolen ear, and one drug abuse arrest Mr. Horrocks also reported that several juveniles had been chased from taro local dubs.
