After a discussion of educational needs of students, councils have unanimously recommended that the 1974 75 project. Council members observed that an oral language approach to reading appears to produce greater and more stable gains. The local school district is to provide all children with basic education and Title 1 provides extra services to support the regular program. fielore Title I money is given to a school district, the district must submit an acceptable application outlining a plan for the Title. I program, explaining how the project will lie operated. Duchesne Counties application is now being prepared by Title 1 director, Kiisella Johnson, with the assistance ot parents and school personnel. Harris enlists in U.S. Army Murray K. Harris, 18, son of Mr. and William L. Harris, of Roosevelt, recently enlisted in the United States Army. According to the local Army Recruiter, larry Sinner, located in Vernal, Murray enlisted as an Automotive Repair Parts Specialist, and will be stationed at Fort lewis, Washington. He will depart the Armed Forces Entrance Station on June Mrs. 13. Mr. Harris, will join two other local Peter Horrocks and Wayne of Roosevelt, who wiU also depart June 13. The three men enlisted in order to attend Basic Training, Voc.
