Hunter said persons entitled to share in the distribution of the money must meet requirements which include: Persons who were bran on or prior to Oct. 10, 1974, or who were living on this date. Persons who are lineal descendants of Northern Paiute Indiana. Persona whose name or whose lineal ancestor's name appears on any available census roll or other record or evidence acceptable to the Secretary of the Interior and who is identified as being of Northern Paiute ancestry. Applications for enrollment to share in the funds, which were awarded by the Indian Claims Commission, must be filed with the Superintendent of the Western Nevada Agency and must be received by that office by the close of business on Oct. 13. 1975. The Indian Claims Commission made the award on land taken from the Indians a century ago in Nevada, California, Oregon and Idaho. Hunter said individuals who believe they can meet the eligibility requirements may obtain application forma or further information from either the Western Nevada Agency, Stewart, Nevada 89437 or the Eastern Nevada Agency, P. O. Box 219, Owyhee, Nevada 89832. Abe Singh enlists in U. S. Army Abe Singh, husband of Mrs. Cher Singh of Duchesne, has enlisted into the United States Army, under the Project Ahead Program (Army Help for Education and Development) according to Larry Stone the local Army Representative here in VernaL Mr. Singh enlisted as a Chaplains Assistant with his choice of duty station being Fort Lewis, Washington. Mr. Singh holds a Master Degree in Human Relations and ia presently working aa the high school counselor at Duchesne, Tabiona high schools. Mr. Singh stated he wanted to complete the PHD program, and when the New Project Ahead was presented at Duchesne high school he took the opportunity to have income each month and still be able to attend college at the at the same time. Mr. Singh talked to Larry Stone the local Army Representative and then enlisted. He will attend school at the University of Washington, where he will complete his PHD. Rampton urges Utahns plant a tree on Friday Governor Calvin L. Rampton Tuesday urged Utahns to plant trees on Arbor Dav as part of the State's Bicentennial project to plant "A Million Trees for a Million People." The governor issued the appeal to mayors and beautification chairmen to g projects Friday as part plan of the program sponsored by the Utah State Institute of Fine Arts and the Deseret News. Goal of the program is to have a million trees planted in the state by September 1976, one for each of the state's citizens. Although individuals are asked to join in the project, the governor recommended the planting of "hundreds of trees" by groups or organizations.
