They brought with them a friend. Miss Dana DeCow. e Mr. and Mrs. Lambert were called to Cortez, Colorado. Mrs. Lambert's father who has been ill for some time, passed away. e Mr. and Mrs. Condiek Crandall of Mapleton were visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Broadhead on the 13th. Mrs. Crandall is Mr. Broadheads sister. Mr. and Mrs. Broadhead went to Provo on the 17th to visit with relatives. They had their son Allen and his family visiting for the weekend. e Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wright received word that their son, Kenneth and his wife have a new baby boy. Kenneth lives in " Berkley, Calif. e Mr. and Mrs. Lue Flake were visiting with relatives and friends in the Uintah Basin. Mrs. Flake is Mrs. Max Birch's sister. Flake's live in Salem, Oregon. They came to Utah to pick up their daughter. Gay, who is a student at BYU. Mr. Max Birch was in Salt Lake on the 16th on business. e Mr. and Mrs. Brant Nelson and children drove to Mt. Pleasant on Sunday the 13th. They visited with Mr. Nelsons mother, Mrs. Nola Nelson. They were also able to visit with an uncle, Mr. Renzo Kelsey who was just released from the hospital there. Mr. Kelsey was suffering from a severe case of pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Norris drove Mrs. Judy Potter to Salt Lake City on Friday to pick up a truck load of building equipment for Potter's new home. He is the owner of a horse training business in Duchesne. Mayor Workman said three council positions and the mayors post will be up for election this November. He noted that positions held by Cal Kielbasa, John Manning, and Roy Eliason will expire in November. Since he (Mayor Workman) was appointed to fill the unexpired term of the late Mayor Lea Wallace, city ordinances and statelaw require that the mayor's position also be filled by election this folL Councilman Howard Mecham's term of office is not over until 1976. Councilman Dorrity1 s appointment is to a post that also will not be up until 1976. City ordinances state that petitions to place names on the ballot must be made not more than 80 days and not less than 15 days before the November election. The Fun Day was held at Dee Allred's Arena in Roosevelt. Show chairman was Bud Whitmore, was Darrant Freston, Ethel Freston acted as secretary, announcer for the show was ' Ted Priest. Judges were Sandy Thompson of the Log Cabin Saddlery Shop, Roosevelt, and Linda Cruder. The club had a full range of events for young and old. Trophies were donated by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Murdock for high point winners. UBAHC selected directors of the club for the Regional show to be held this year with the Duchesne County Fair. The elub have traQrides cookouts, and good times planned for all members and any who wish to join. Those interested call Vera Ames in Roosevelt, or Vera Powers in Vernal. The dub wishes to thank everyone for the great turn out Saturday. They hope to see everyone again at the next outing.
