Upon completion students will be issued a Card of Completion showing that they have, completed requirement for a nurse aide class. Participants in the class, instructed by Donna Powell, R. N., consist of women already working as aides or women starting out new in the field. Students will have completed 100 hours of theory and lab experience when the course is completed. The course also requires 100 hours of supervised clinical practice. Women working for six months or more is given partial credit towards the clinical requirement. The Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center has had another class in session at Uintah County Hospital in Vernal The enrollment in the Vernal class, which concludes this week, included mostly women already working as aides in the hospital and Sunrise Convalescent Center. The nurse aide classes are being taught throughout the state to provide skilled aides to function in medical facilities. It consists of 100 hours of theory and lab experience and 100 hours of clinical People practice under supervision. already working as aides have found the classes helpful in upgrading their skills and those just beginning become well qualified in a new field. Plans are already being considered for repeat classes early next year, with applications being accepted at the Uintah Center in Basin Area Vocational Roosevelt.
