Show Mother of year search opens, deadline Catholic Church News 5 The Pantry Shower for needy families at Search for the Utah Mother of the Year for 1975 has opened and the deadline for nominations will be February 1, according to Mrs. Caroline E. Miner, of the Utah Mothers president Association. Mrs. Miner said the National Mothers Committee, Inc., of New York City has revised the application forms, and only the new forms will be acceptable. The forms may be obtained by sending a large stamped envelope to her at 2429 Kensington Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah 84108. The forms have also been sent to chairmen of the nine districts in Utah for distribution. Mrs. Muriel S. Wallis of Vernal is chairman of the Uintah Basin District Mrs. Leona Riding, president of the UB District UFWC will be Duchesne County Chairman. Mrs. Miner said mothers may be sponsored by their own children, by a church group, civic organization or club. Hie selection is but all mothers nominated should belong to some religious group 4nd be active in it Applicants will be judged on their own accomplishments, as well as on their children's achievements. Youngest children of nominated mothers must be 15 years of age or over. Mrs. Miner emphasized that the applications must be filled out exactly according to directions on the blank, and all material combined in a lightweight folder and sent to her by the February 1 deadline. The woman selected as Utah Mother of represent the state in the American Mother of the Year selection in 1975 will New York in May. Mrs. Lea Vasten Former resident, Mrs. Ruth Harris Ward, Fontana, Calif., spent several days in Duchesne where she visited friends. She was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Buckalew. a Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gee spent 3 days last week in Sail Lake where they spent some time shopping and visiting with friends and relatives. They were overnight guests one evening at the residence of the Randy Hill's Murray. While in Murray, they also visited with Harolds brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Max Gee and with Orindas sister, Mr. and Mrs. Devere Ross and with friends, the Lorus Walkers and Doc Johnsons, all of Franklin Deloy Tanner were wed in rites in Elko, Nevada on October 5. Murray. FRANKLIN, PERKINS WED IN Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gee traveled to Salt Lake on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Eldredge Buckalew spent Sunday in Hanna at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Weston Thomas and daughter Karen. NEVADA RITES The former Anna Mae Perkins, and Franklin Deloy Tanner were joined in Holy Matrimony October 5, in Elko, Nevada. The new Mrs. Tanner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Perkins of Myton, and Mr. Tanner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tanner also of Myton. Attending the ceremony as members of the wedding party were Mr. and. Sirs. Frank Tanner, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim FYanklin, of Myton and Mrs. and Mrs. Jay Borough of Fruit Heights. The newly weds were hosted to dinner by the grooms parents at the Raney Inn following the ceremony. The couple are at home now in Salt Lake where Mr. Tanner will continue his studies at the LDS Business College. Mrs. Tanner is employed at J. C. Penny lesson, guests Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Meredith and children went to Twenty-Nin- e Palms, California last week and attended the wedding of his sister. Mrs. Clark Lusty received word of the death of her sister in Uraguay. Mrs. Jane Farnsworth was honored at a surpirse birthday party Saturday at her home. Relatives from out of town coming to attend were, Mr. and Mrs. Curt Kofford and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Abbott, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Spotten and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Karlsen, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Liddell and family, Mrs. Della Liddell, all of Salt Lake. Mark Mrs. Bleazard a made business trip to Salt Lake on Monday. The ward relief society is having a bazaar at the cultural hall Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Everyone come out and support the bazaar. e Mr. and Mrs. Reed Clayburn, Ann and Cherrie, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Redmond attended the Leaders Banquet Thursday. Laird Baird and Wilford Evans, and their families of Salt Lake were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ardon Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lusty, Mr. and Mrs. Ardon Evans, attended open house for Mr. and Mrs.. Ron Fox at Rangely, Saturday evening. Mrs. Fox is the former Diane Peel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peel of Rangely. Both Mr. and Mrs. Tanner are 1973 graduates of Union high school. Friends and relatives are invited to a wedding shower in their honor, Saturday November 23, from p.m., in the Myton Ward Cultural Hall. 2-- 4 The Roosevelt of the Chapter Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held their November meeting at the home of Verlillian Summarell Friday, November 15. The lesson, The Saints Built Las Vegas Ft. was given by Ruth Martca. James Summarell played organ music while lunch was served to fourteen members. Mrs. Mary Boender was invited in as a member. Hostess's were Mrs. Summarell, Ruth Martin, Dida Emmert and Lillian Carlson. 4-- Myton DUP The Myton Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held their meeting at the home of Sadie Chandler. After the business meeting, Ruth Murray gave the lesson on the Las Vegas Fort. Nine members were present and one visitor. A lunch was served by Sadie Chandler. The Catholic Women's Club held their monthly meeting November 13th. The program consisted of a film on Breast Cancer. Grace Jensen, the Duchesne County Nurse discussed the film with us. Students at the Duchesne schools will be dismissed from school Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving.
