Parents across the nation concerned about the state of their public schools. They worry not only about their childrens academic education but about their spiritual training as well. Since God has been denied into the public entry schools, many parents have turned to Christian schools in their communities. Pleasant, Utah 84647 NO PARTY IDEAL Dear Editor: The Republican leadership is stupid and suicidal! The recent top leadership conference in Washington proved that. At a time when the electorate clearly is moving to the right, Gerald Ford stared at the television cameras and announced: The Republican tent is large enough for everyone." That indicated to me that the Republican leadership is preparing again to move leftward, particularly since Nelson Rockefeller was among those present, and, presumably had an input. I have no regrets about the GOP. If only the Democrats now can be eliminated, we might be able to recover our American ideals and way of life. The danger is that we could end up with a one-parsystem, as in Eastern Europe. ty Sincerely, Howard Finney Bountiful, Utah 84010 AN EYE FOR A TOOTH Dear Editor: Shortly before Dr. Palmer retired he told me that I was threatened with cataracts. I knew a lot about cataracts and blindness. My maternal grandmother was totally blind for the last two years of her life after unsuccessful cataract operations on both eyes. But me? Blind! Never to paint again! Oh, no! I set about learning all I possibly could about eyes and about cataracts. First, from a woman scientist's book on foods I learned that where riboflavin, vitamin B2, was from rats they all withheld developed cataracts. I added B2to my oculist's medication. 1 read that something called fluorine was a cause of cataracts and blindness. Fluorine Stand OUTLOOK READERS MARILYN MANION A FLUORINE THAT DES- TROYED THEM? I borrowed a copy of a chemical book, then in use as a text in the University of Utah School of Medicine. This book. Principles of Biochemistry by White, on page 237 contained a list of the enzyme inhibitors. Enzyme inhibitor" turned out to be the scientific name of poison. The five deadliest enzyme inhibitors, poisons, were listed in the order of their power to kill, to. destroy. Cyanide and sulphide topped the list. Deadly fluoride, for which there is no remedy, arid which for many years was used to commit illegal abortions, came third, followed by oxolate and carbon monoxide. They were all classed as destroyers of enzymes needed in our bodies. Now what in the world were enzymes? After much study I concluded that enzymes are the life controlling cells or elements with which the creator endowed all living things, that keep our organs functioning. A seed could not sprout nor grow without enzymes. No cell, muscle or organ of any creature could live or perform without its contorlling life giving enzymes. Enzymes that are destroyed by cyanide and fluorine. I learned that cataracts afflict less than 1 of the whole United States population, but that in Bartlet, Texas where the water contains 6 P.P.M. plus of fluorine 10 of the natives who drink it suffer from cataracts, and in Cameron where the water also contains fluorine 19 of natives have cataracts. Cataracts you say can be operated upon and removed. The normal eye contains a clear adjustable lens, thru which images pass and are focused on the sensitized retina deeper in the eye. If the lens becomes damaged, opaque from fluoride or other cause, it becomes a cataract. The very delicate cataract operation consists of removing the spoiled lens surgically and substituting a thick glass lens outside of the eye. But if the retina has also been damaged the unfortunate victim is hopelessly blind, condemned to stumble in the dark with a white cane the rest of his or her life. Even in a successful cataract operation all side vision is lost. One woman I knew paid $250 plus hospital costs and recivered the sight of one eye. Another had both eyes operated on at a cost of $300 for each eye, $600 plus hospital, plus weeks of care by a friend. Others less fortunate, after even greater expense and anguish are groping in semi-o- r total blindness. Cataract surgery or loss of sight is a terrible price to pay, an awful sacrifice to subject older people to, in order to force fluoride down children via all our drinking water. nine-year-o- ld Prof. Mabel Frazer Salt Lake City, Utah TOO MANY GROUPS!!! Cause is that there are so many small groups and even individuals, all working your hearts out but mostly going to the same people. Consequently our mite is spread so thin that you are all in the same boat. I am 83. About 25 years ago I joined an enthusiastic (?) group to set the world on fire. We talked to what groups we could and we talked to individuals. Instead of our group growing, it barely held its own and finally evaporated into thin air. Of the fairly substantial number of people I considered friends, I lost at least half of them. The others sort of tossed it off as though we were nuts. And so it goes. I set aside two thousand dollars a year for the cause and divide it up as best I can. I know I am wrong many times, but the appeals are so tragic that I cannot stop. Everyone with the slightest sense knows that we are in the same shape as Great Britain but everyone shuts their eyes to it. They have more money, but it is of less value.
