If you have, then consider registering them for Pioneer Gubs, a young peoples program that provides supportive friendships, good role models and lots of activities and fun in a cooperative environment that emphasizes spiritual values. - Pioneer Clubs is coming to Davis County through the sponsorship of Grace Baptist Church. Pioneer Clubs is a weekly club for young people two years old through high school. The program integrates spiritual and personal development into young peoples lives by giving them opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, have fun and develop Christian values which will affect every area of their lives. While Pioneer Clubs focuses on Jesus Christ and his teachings it has no denominational affiliation. The first club started in 1939 in response to the Harriet Breehm that complaint of 13 year-ol- d Theres nothing to do around here. Two college students, Joe Coughlin and Betty Whitaker, accepted her challenge by starting a club for Harriet and her friends. Semiannual Ladies Night to be held on September 30 SALT LAKE CITY Fifteen Deseret Book stores along the Wasatch Front will participate in the semiannual Ladies Night events on September 30. Ladies Night is sponsored by Deseret Book as a retreat for women each spring and fall during LDS General Conference. While the men attend the priesthood session held on Saturday evening, the women, especially those visiting from out of town, have the opportunity to experience a showcase of LDS literature and other quality products that strengthen individuals, families, and our society. Ladies Night features incredible discounts on selected books, tapes, and CDs, and participants can also enter to win door prizes and treat themselves to light refreshments as they enjoy the fun of Ladies Night. Many authors and musical artists will be appearing at Deseret Book locations exclusively for this event, including Anne Osborn Poelman, William B. Slaughter, Felicia St. Olafs women luncheon set The St. Olafs Council of Women is holding their annual fall luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 30, in the McNamara Center behind St. Olaf s Catholic Church (corner of Orchard Drive and 1800 So. in Bountiful).
