Show CUPPER Friday, September 1.0, 1993 1 3 fashion show had a winning combination Back-to-scho- ol A fashion show at T J Maxx in Bountiful brought a back-to-scho- ol winning combination together, teenage girls and fashion. Also in the mix were teenage boys, elementary school boys and girls and young adults. Each model wore two T J Maxx outfits that they thought would take them back to school in style. and Sharon Lovell present a Delta Educational Science Kit to sixth grade teacher Wendy Davis, left, of Woods Cross Elementary. These science kits enable children to have hands on science experiences in areas of life science, physical science, and earth science. The teachers wish to thank Mr. McGuire and Mrs. Lovell for their contribution to the field of science and hope that other businesses will join Chevron and help Woods Cross Elementary teachers create a hands-o- n Walt McGuire science laboratory at the school. The models were students of the Woods Cross Modeling School taught by Terry Badham and her assistant Seale Franzman. The class has been producing local models for about five years. During the beginning class, like the one held last spring the potential models, most of them teenage girls, learn modeling basics. For example they learn the difference between the European style and the American style of walking down the fashion runway. They also learn about good health for good looks, hair styles and make up. Near the end of the class, the p have a professional to begin their taken photo portfolio. The spring 1993 class also went to Lagoon to model for models-to-lj- area photographers. In the advanced class this fall the students practice making commercials and then have a set of pictures a week taken of them. The time and place of the class will be advertised in the Clipper. Tawni Huber and Andrea Mikkleson recently modeled at T.J. Maxx for back - to - school fashion. Andrea has also appeared on a Television commercial for Lagoon. Energy Tour Walt' McGuire Lovell Sharon Chevron in Oil and of ED Company, connection with the State Education, Board of sponsored an Energy Tour of all Chevron Oil Companies of The Rocky Mountain States during summer. The purpose of the tour was to give teachers first hand onsite experiences in production of oil from drilling pumping U LIU the of wells, procedures, 463 South Main Bountiful 292 - 1772 refining oil to marketing to and deliverance customers. Four Davis District teachers the week seminar which completed long included a tour of the Carter Creek Gas Plant in Evanston, Rangely 'Oil Field in Rangely, Colo.; Hannah Pump Station and Myton Pump in Utah. ADA sets program The Davis County Chapter of the American Diabetes Association, Utah Affiliate, announces its educational program for September. On Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m., Karla Johnson, RN, CDE, will lecture on "Overview of Diabetes Management" at Lakeview Hospital, 630 E. Medical Drive, Bountiful.
