Show DAVIS COUNTY CLIPPER Tuesday, July 20, 1993 C7 American Classic staged The Pages Lane Theatre is bringing an "American Classic" to its stage beginning July 19 and playing most evenings through Aug. "I've Never Been in Love Before," "A Bushel and a Peck," "Take Back Your Mink," "If I Were a Bell" and The teenage classes of the Pages Lane School of Performing Arts and the Rodgers School of Performing Arts have been rehearsing and production are double, triple and in some cases quadruple cast so that more students get an opportunity for many others. 7. Others in the cast include Barry Blake, Adam Rodgers, and Aaron Christensen, Bountiful, in the "Bouncy" part of Nicely Nicely Johnson. More than 65 of the performers are well known "kids" from the Bountiful, Centerville, Kaysville, Layton, Farmington and Ogden areas and 60 of them from the Salt Lake, Murray, Midvale, West Valley City areas and some from. Grantsville and Tooele. These are all" students of the Rodgers School of Performing Arts in Salt Lake City and the Pages Lane School of Performing Arts located in BountifulCenterville. Last year the students presented the highly successful "Oklahoma" and this year they change pace somewhat with the New York Fairy tale "Guys and Dolls." There are 120 of the most talented Utah teens looking forward to presenting the rollicking fun of this favorite musical comedy. Just last year the revival of "Guys and Dolls" on Broadway brought a whole new generation of people flocking to see it. It also won the coveted Tony Award for the best revival on Broadway for 1992. Many people have seen the movie starring Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando, but the best way to experience all of the charm is to see it "live" and even better in a theatre as is found at Pages Lane Theatre. "Guys and Dolls" gave to the world some of the most enduring songs ever written and include "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat," student directors. Joan Rodgers is musical director. Because of the success and fame of this annual "teen" musical each summer at Pages Lane Theatre many of the nights are already sold out. Some groups have purchased entire nights for their own teenage youth conferences, and other performance arts schools throughout Utah are bringing their students to see how great a Broadway musical can be when presented by well trained and disciplined youth. However, because of the highly professional presentation of these musicals many families and older married couples add this production to their summer cultural calendar. It is totally a fun evening of singing, dancing, acting, beautiful sets, e colorful costumes and first-rat- performance for everyone.
