The classes will be held at South Clearfield Elementary League, ages 11 and 12, $23 plus a refundable $10 deposit. Prep, 13 year olds, and Babe Ruth, 14 and 15 year olds will be $28 plus a refundable $10 deposit. The age cut off date is July 31. Registration will be held at the Recreation Office in the Layton Surf N Swim Complex, from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All teams that participated in the 1987 Summer Softball Program and any new Clearfield teams must register Tuesday, March 15, through Thursday, March 24. Rooster Valley softball tourney set RICHFIELD The fourth annual Rooser Valley Super Softball Classic will be played in three legs this year, with each leg crowning several champions plus providing national berths to the United States Slow Pitch Softball Association Championships. The spring leg is scheduled May 4 and is open to mens class C and D teams. Steeles Softball Team will open this years Classic on May 12, and will play three games on its tour. Steeles, arguably one of the best slow pitch teams ever assembled, will meet the Sevier County Southern Utah and Northern Utah The summer leg of the Classic is scheduled over two consecutive weekends, with the womens divi6 and the sion playing July 12-1- All-Star- All-Sta- s, All-Star- 15-1- s. rs mens divisions playing July 22-2- 3. The Home Run King, Rocket Arm and Mrs. Basebath contests will be held during the summer. A new award called the Rooster Valley Hot Shot Contest will be added this year. The overall winner in decathlon style of the three contests will earn that honor. The fall leg is scheduled Sept. 7 and is open to mens class B, C, and D teams and womens teams. Layton Rec again offers men's softball LAYTON Layton Recreation will again be offering mens softball leagues for the upcoming spring and summer. The mens A League will be played on Monday and Wednesday nights at the Oak Forest Complex at a cost of $360. and softballs are provided for a fourteen game schedule and a tournament at the end of the season. The mens B League will be played on Tuesday night at the Oak Forest Complex at a cost of $250. This is a good competitive leage and will only play one night a week.
