Show r. 8C Lakeside Review, Wednesday, February 18, 1987 No tax increase, Roy flag designed ROY Whats a birthday party without a flag to wave? Thats how the Roy City Council sees it anyway. The City Council, at a workshop session held last week, adopted a design for a city flag, to be used on the citys 50th anniversary. Councilman Dale Willis said the flag design was selected from 20 applicants, a vast majority of which were submitted by junior high and high school students from the area. Willis said the flag is a first for Roy City and will be com is trustees decide pleted and on display in time for the citys March 9 celebration. The concept of the flag has been approved by the council, Willis said, but some color modification will have to take place before the work begins. Willis said cost to make the flag will be low because a group of Roy senior citizens have volunteered to hand sew it. Roy Mayor Wayne Kimber said he is tickled over the idea of having a city flag. He estimated the flag would be finished by March 1.
