Tickets are not required for the concerts, which are free of charge and are sponsored by the general activities committee of The LDS Church. He was principal violist with the Vienna Symphony and conductor of the Minneapolis Civic ' Symphony. Barrus was recently appointed director of orchestras at Brigham Young University. David Dalton received music from the Eastman School of Music and studied at conservatories in Vienna and Munich. He has concertized extensively in Europe. Dalton is presently music director of the Salt Lake Symphony and is on the faculty at Brigham Young University. Barrus and Dalton will be assisted in this concert by Brett Zumsteg, harpsichord; Julie Zum-stecello; Jean Hill, voila; and Suzanne Ostler, viola. David Dalton, Violists October 19: Utah Bach Choir Violists Clyn Barrus and David Dalton will perform on Friday evening. The program includes Duet in C Major by Carl Stam-ita series of seven Duets by the Branden6 in Concerto No. burg Major by J.S. Bach, and the Sonata for Viola Fout Hands by P.D.Q. Bach. Clyn Barrus has performed in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia both as a soloist and as a member of chamber music groups Foundation" arranged by William Ramsey. Concluding the evening, Dr. Max F. Dalby will direct the band in Jubilant Overture by Reed, Komm Seusser Tod by Bach, Broadway Overture arranged by Barker, and Pictures at an Exhibition by Moussorgsky. Organist Johnathan Cochran will present a recital program on Saturday evening. Beginning with Alleluyas by Preston, the program continues with Two Chorale Preludes by Bach, Prelude in Minor by Buxtehude, Morning Aria by Christiansen, Sunday Music by Eben, and 24 Pieces in Free Style by Vierne. The evening concludes with Variations on a Noel by Marcel Dupre. Mr Cochran has been a state and regional winner in the Music Teachers National Association organ competition. In 1984 he was a soloist with the Mesa Arizona Symphony Orchestra and from 1985 he served as guest organist at the Salt Lake Tabernacle. He is presently a student at Utah State University.
