A native of Liberty, Neb., he lived in Albany, Oregon as a child and became a member of the LDS Church when he was 12 years of age. He graduated from Albany High School and later graduated from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. After fulfilling an LDS Mission in the New Zealand South Mission (1960-6he attended Brigham Young University and there met Cheryl Lynne Roestenburg, whom he married soon after graduation in 1965. He taught music in the Springville Junior High School and Payson High School and then he and his wife and daughter, Lori Anne, went to New Zealand, where he became a teacher in the Church College of New Zealand. Their younger children, Brenton, 2; and Dwayne, 1; were born in New Number 46 up 2) Elmo C. Keck, 85 West Fifth North, Payson, was presented with his Master M Men Award at Payson Third Ward Sacrament Services held recently. The award was approved by LaMark J. Wignall, Nebo Stake MIA President. Mr. Keck is currently serving as Payson Third Ward chorister. The welcome address will be given by Dr, Joe A. Reidhead, Superintendent of A multi-med- ia Nebo School District. presentation, Meeting Individual Needs, will be conducted by Jack Gillespie, State Department of Instruction director, with B. Davis Evans, teacher Spanish Fork High School, acting as narrator and a group of students from the High School. This will be followed by a panel discussion, Are Our Schools Meeting the Needs of Students?" with Robert Bowen, moderator. The panel will be composed of parents, students and educators. In the afternoon Dr. Reidhead will speak to the subject, What Should Educators Be Doing to Meet the Individual Needs of Students? There will be a presentation of exemplary programs in Nebo School District designed for the purpose of meeting individual needs. Supt. For many years after 1919 Ameri- cans looked upon Nov. lias Armistice Day. a day to commemorate peace following World War L Then on June 1, 1954, after the scourges of another world war President Eisen- hower changed the name to Veterans Day in honor of all the brave men who had risked or given their lives in conflicts. Yesterday on Veterans Day many people throughout the nation in some way paid honor and respect to these veterans. Many Payson War Veterans have through the years fulfilled their assignments, done the tasks required of them and returned to our community to help try to make a better world, free from new wars. Through the American Legion Post many of these veterans have found ways to accomplish some of their goals. Wives, mothers, sisters and daughters of veterans have joined with Lady Veterans who wished to also uphold the ideals for which veterans had fought and died for and joined forces with them in furthering Americanism and Service, through the American Legion Auxiliary. These groups along with the Jr. Auxiliary composed of members under 18 years of age are all active in the Payson area and want all who are eligible and not now active to join with them in their activities to help others.
