year The Fillmore Hospital Auxiliary made 5250000 to be used for new hospital equipment and for the medical As always many hours of scholarship work went on before during and after Pink Day We would Tafta Watson had the younger children in some of her stories participate had the older Suzanne Limburg children out on the North lawn under the ballon which hung down from the tree One child wondered if they could have a ride in one of the balloons DeVaun Mitchell made the balloons She is a very special volunteer and we appreciate all her help in our library and with our special projects children spent a very enjoyable afternoon Two boxes of “Reading Resources” for Young People are now ready to be checked out One rack of “Tender Moments” will be of special interest to teenage girls The other the Fillmore area Sunshine Generation submitted an audition vido tape of five of her students performing the Sunshine Generation theme song to KSL Channel 5 Auditions of 250 children from Utah and many other states were also sent in but only 18 students were chosen Kellie Child 9 year old daughter of Raun and Geri Child of Fillmore will travel to Salt Lake City on June 21 for the filming of the commercial This will be an exciting and memorable experience for Kellie The commercial will air in 35 different time spots during the last week of August and the first week of September on channels KCPX KSL KUTV KSTU Sunshine Generation is an excellent program that teaches voice dance mulic theory and most important selfesteem for boys and girls ages three to 8th grade Openings are still Monday Children’s The United States Achievement Academy announced that Aaron G White has been named a United States National Award winner in science and This award is a student council prestigious honor very few students can In fact the ever hope to attain Academy recognizes less than 10 percent of all American high school students Aaron White who attends Millard High School was nominated for this National Award by Beverly Roth science teacher and Linda Baugh advisor Aaron will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook published nationally “Recognizing and Temple Lawrence and Lula lived the first five years in Salt Lake where Lawrence worked as a florist Then they made their home in Fillmore Lawrence has spent most of his life raising wheat hay and angus cattle Along with his farming Lawrence and Lula owned and operated the Peterson Floral for more than 25 years They also worked many years in the Fillmore Garden Club Lawrence and Lula have spent many hours doing temple work Lula has served in Relief Society and Primary presidencies and a teacher for several auxiliaries Lawrence served as Bishop of the Fillmore 2nd Ward for 12'2 years and held
