Aimee Luke and Erin Ada Jacobson spent a week in the Provo area visiting children and their families Marlyn and Dennis Schurtz Connie and Ed Moosman Nancy and Tom Overson and Shelia and little Justin Dennis worked on her car Our 1st ward open house under the direction of the Sunday School was a huge success Pot luck dinner was a variety of plenty delicious food A short film was shown then a tour of rooms where each organization had a display of what is being taught this year A large crowd enjoyed the evening Missing from this get together was Bishop Dutson’s wife Kay because of foot surgery A weekend guest of Larry Dutson’s was Miss Jan Gayle of Beaver Utah While parents Mrs Lester (Darla) Anderson spent a couple of days in Reno NV their children Chrisina Marie Carrie Corrie and Markus spent the time here with grandparents Molly and Marlow and uncle Barlow They enjoyed their cousins Lesa Lori and Seth From Trade Tech Provo to spend the weekend with parents Mrs Ralph (Eda) Christensen was Evelyn then for a short visit with the family were son Ralph Cindy and children Mrs Boyd (Elma N) Anderson of Pleasant Grove visited with sisters and brothers Susan and Ivan Shipley Ava and Chris Anderson Gayle and Manis and Alden and Erma Nielson Susan and Elma visited our Relief Society Erma Meeting where their Nielson gave the lesson Sacrament meeting was a beautiful song by Sherlyn Shaw accompanied by Kathy Rowley and talks by Mrs Ray (Joyce) Arp who are new in our town and who are newlyweds Melonie Shipley from Torrence CA who entered the MTC on Jan 23 stayed overnight with grandparents Susan and Ivan She was accompanied by mother Norma and 2 friends Her mission will be the Hondorus Mission On Sun Helen Wright brought dinner to us Shirley and Marion joined us for this meal and because hubby Helen spent the Ron was in Calif night with us Later in the week Betty Rae Tucker with children Brandon Alisha Angelia Marie and Amanda Joe who had spent a couple of days with the Wrights stopped in for a short visit Mrs Lem Lovell spent an evening with us also Congratulations to Lori Roberts who is “Daisy Mae” in the High School musical of “Lil Abner” also in the cast Stake Relief Society presidency and to Venice Lovell who is a new board member We sort of claim Anne Taylor too Great grandparents Mrs Cloyd Talbot received word of the serious ness of Gregory’s son of Bert and Becky Shimpey of St George When he was a week old he was taken to the hospital with meningitis then These two diseases were pneumonia taken care of but he is the Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake with a disease that maybe calls for surgery Quite a bit for a child of less than three weeks Serious illness and some not so serious but there is lots of sickness this winter Our little 2 year old neighbor spent an overnight time in the Delta Hospital because of croop Richard is the son of Crandall and Gwen Nielson Barry Eggleston is at home now after a stay in theUtah Valley Hospital where he had surgery because of a pinched nerve that caused a great deal of CITIZEN Too many things came up to keep me from getting an article in the Chronicle Progress last week so I must let you know what’s happening this week Last week elections were held at the center The President and Board are elected for a term of two years and two of our board members were released at this time after having filled their two year term Beulah Rowley and Floyd It became Brad field were released necessary to release Cameron Adams as President because of his call to the Manti Temple Cameron has been a very good president and has been willing to do all he could to make the Senior Citizen program a success and has had the full support of his wife Norma Adams We appreciate all they did at the center for all of us and we wish them every success in their new calling We will miss them at the center We know they will be there with us whenever they can and that we will always have their support The new President elect is Seth Jackson with Reed Wood as Vice Pres was New Board member He will continue as Floyd Bradfield program chairman and Bessie Webb will act as Secretary and Publicity We are looking forward Chairwoman to another good year at the center and with the help of Nelle Sorensen the who prepare such good ladies nutritious meals and all the Senior Citizens I’m sure it will be a success We at the center are very happy for and Nelle Callister Bert Sorensen Sorensen in their recent marriage Bert has been a stalwart member of our group and will continue his help with all of us w ho are interested in keeping an active center here in the Delta area Our sincere congratulations to both of them Please come out and help us and enjoy visiting and being with your friends more often has been attending Modesto Junior College in Modesto CA where he was majoring in “refrigeration” Before moving back to CA he was employed for Bunco at 1PP His farewell was Sunday Dec 8 1985 in Manteca
