For more information, il: By The Dixie Sun Dixie State Colleges DEX club participated m that organizations state competition on Feb. 23 and 24 in Salt Lake City, with several members of the club bringing home awards. The group also qualified for the national DEX tournament later this year in Anaheim, Calif. DEX competed against other colleges and universities from around the state in the and competition (no division of two-yefour-yecolleges exists in DEX). The DEX club, according to club member Trent Lay, is an organization for students to gain expenence in marketmg management through state and national competition. The group focuses on the many different aspects of marketing. The club also hones those skills by meeting twice weekly under the direction of adviser Brent Snow. At the competition, Dixie particularly excelled in the Quiz Bowl, in which the Rebels entered two teams, as Dixie owned the rest of the competition. The two squads finished second and third, respectively. Bryan Stewart had the most successful run of DSCs students, taking home both a first and second prize. Wiley McArthur finished second in retail merchandising, and Lay finished third in the same event. Larinda Wenzel placed in the top 10 in marketing management. Brandon Condie and Scott Seegmiller both placed in the top 10 for financial services and business marketing. The DEX club is also extending an invitation for new students to join. Students who are interested should inquire to the Brent Snow, whose office is located on the third floor of the Udvar-Haz- y Business Building. DEX is the college arm of DECA, a national association of marketing students.
