No doubt the Board of Regents felt they had entered hostile territory when they toured Dixie College recently, but, to the state they were transported here in a two place is ludicrous to say the least. I doubt they would know the difference between an Apache helicopter and a Buick Lesabre. They are going to determine our future? hip hoprap music very offensive. It has been rumored among Dixie College faculty that this local resident was a large contributor who threatened to withdraw financial support if their demands were not met. How altruistic. The very essence of education is to broaden an individual's thinking and expand their understanding of other people and cultures. The rapid closure of station shows that egocentrism is alive and well in St. George, Utah. As D-9- 1 Nolan Ashman Dixie College Professor of Psychology commend Ms. Pierce on her radio article covering the At many colleges radio stations are an integral part of student and community culture, there's no reason why this cant be true here at Dixie College and St. George.. There is much learned through tire study of diverse cultures, even ones that may alarm your sensibilities. You dont necessarily have to embrace something to appreciate it's existence. A great deal of success in life depends on ones ability to accept the fact that all people are not the same and that your beliefs are no more than simply your beliefs. The doctrine native to this area that all people are required to be a carbon copy of each other is both naive and neurotic. I am saddened that one of the few mediums of free expression in this area has been silenced. I am even more saddened that it happened without any thought as to the message it sent to area students. The message that the college administrators would put such a small price on constitutional rights. It makes me would be wonder how quickly reopened, proudly playing slut rap uncensored, if a large contribution were received by the college from Percy Miller (better known as Master P President of No Limit Records, the largest grossing producer of what you call slut rap). Mr Miller was listed in last years Fortune 500 ranking, just under Bill Gates and Russell Simmons. walks Obviously the theory money talks and bulls isnt just the mantra in the world of slut rap but is also the chant you hearing echoing off the Red Hills of St. George, Utah. Matt Charlee Ann Macias of c ryieuj lay su Your article, Rebel Radio: Whats With All the Dead Air" stated that a local resident called Program Director Steve Simms, complaining about slut rap.
