The first quarter was very even with the Tigers leading 10 to 9 by virtue of several foul pitches. The foul pitches played a very important part in each quarter, but neither team could take much advantage of them. The half time score saw Hurricane take a 19 to 14 lead, but by the end of the third quarter Dixie had cut it to a 3 point, 33 to 30, lead. Then in the final eight minutes of play, Dixie came from behind to win by three points, at one time holding a seven point advantage in the final quarter. Mel Miles scored 17 points for the Flyers at center. Stan Esplin and Don Miles scored eight each; Jim Ott and' Lloyd Booth finished with four each; and Bruce and El Roy Stucki counted two each. This win puts Dixie in a tie with Enterprise for first place; each team having three victories and no defeats. Cedar City, Hurricane, and Kanab follow in a tie for third place with one win and two losses each. Valley rounds out the division with no wins and three losses. The Flyers met Kanab last Friday at home and will tangle with in a Enterprise this week-en- d crucial battle for first place. Reflecting Dixie's Sun By NORMAN FAWSON If all goes well, next years basketball teams will be playing on the new campus in a new gym with a 2,500 seating capacity. The $550,000 appropriation bill is in the state legislature, favored by Th div par, ar C0lJ Ro; ton v ffJ pa, Attention, Small Men Gov- ernor Lee. The plans for the gymnasium have already been selected. We understand that Joe Kirby has been ruled ineligible in I.C.A.C. play and for that reason all of Snow colleges previous games have been forfeited. The Rebels, you remember, lost an overtime game to the Badgers, but because of this ruling, Dixie receives credit for the win. This evens our record at three wins and three losses before the Weber and Westminster games. On a road trip last week-enthe Rebels met the northern colleges of Weber at Ogden and Westminster at Salt Lake City. This series could possible have evened the Rebels record at five wins and three losses by winning twice.
