Show 24 DIXIE OWL, ST. GEORGE, UTAH ATHLETICS The state track meet which is held annually will not be held this year. Owing to this and internal reasons with the B. A. C. there will be no meet between that school and the D. N. C., Coach Gourley and his men were and would have given northern schools a close match in all events. All of our track and field activities have been abandoned for this year. The inter-clas- s series of field and track events gh top-not- ch were bagged by the Freshies. The Murdock opera team gave us an afternoon meet with three events. The D. N. C. waddled off with all three events. In baseball the score TRAINING SCHOOL NOTES (Continued from Page 18; TRIBUTE FROM THE SIXTH GRADE As a class the Sixth Grade students are well pleased with the normal training work. This is was 13-The hundred yard dash was won by Herbert Milne, and the half mile by Eddie Frei. The high jump was won by Baker of Beaver. Although we were disappointed in our meet, we have lots of thanks to give our good, patient coach, Mr. Gourley, one of the best in southern Utah. C. in which they were beaten by the skin of their All in all, our year of athletics has been teeth. a most satisfactory, clean and successful season. evident from the fact that we are all hoping that next year the work may continue and that we may be fortunate enough to be one of the grades in which the practice teachers are allowed to train.
