Show DIXIE OWL, ST. GEORGE, UTAH 4 7 DIXIE I r S- - I $ vs. I B. A. C. s, DECISION: S. UNANIMOUS IN FAVOR OF DIXIE. 1 I i a ,k. REX SNOW D. N. C. Wins Debate Series Dixie has experienced another complete line of victories in debating. Our High School and College have both been fully represented and all but one scalp came into the Dixies belt. The only debate lost was that between the College team and the senior students of the University of Nevada. We put out three college and two high school teams- - Donald and David gave the University of southern California a good rub by defeating The debate with Nethem vada was 1 in Nevadas favor. L Verd and Robert cleaned up Provo and the Freshies of the U. of U. by an unanimous decision. Rex and Elson made a fine 2-- 1. 2-- fight with the B. A. C. College and Chester and Elmer with The Murdock passed over a scalp without resistence to the celebrated Gates and Herman. Hinckley, hearing of the great battles and wholesale slaughter, without mercy, withdrew and conceded their position to the leaders, Snow and Gates. Thus Dixie is the home for the intellectual and superior debating. their High School. The College I am thinking of a dear, dear college, Down in Dixies southern land, Where the students seek for knowledge And are a true, staunch, sturdy band. How can I forget the fame 1919s added to her name? I love to tell the story how we won that noble prize With all our caps of blue and gold Towering high into the skies. But best of all Ill tell you, How we won all those debates, Waiving high our gold and blue In three great western states. La Verd and Bob sure scooped em At the B. Y. U. And they most thoroughly stunned them At the U. of U. Rex and Elson did their part In gaining victories all about. They whipped those Cedar guys Until they wept and wiped their eyes. Don and David did their best And gained a victory for the rest. California knows our fame, Nevadas jealous of our name. But never mid, we bet em, beat em, We showed them what to do. And next year with our degreed men Well make the world fight, too. |
