Show 2H)c jlalt £akr tribune ATltS & Entertainment Sunday December Section E 21 1986 Page i guest tonight on Bob Hope holiday special Bv Harold Schindler Tribune Television Editor Bob Hope who has lived 83 summers claims he was born with jet lag So how can a man as energetic and full of spark as this legend of comedy survive the rigors of air travel which seem to exact such a demanding toll on other jet setters and world businessmen of the latter 20th century? “I use my own plane — a Jctstar — for one thing" Hope explains "When I travel I sleep and relax I have a place in the Lockheed to lie down and that allows me to fly across country without feeling like I had to flap my arms all the way" In a telephone interview last week Hope reminiscenced about his career and his amazing durability and he discussed his impending holiday television special "Bob Hope's Bagful of Christmas Cheer" which is to air Sunday at 8 pm on KUTV He also had some observations about a new crop of Utah Osmond youngsters w ho would be making their prime time network television debut on the show "The kids are great" he said "You know the original brothers Alan Wayne Merrill and Jay were on one of my special 15 years ago (The Osmond Brothers Quartet) and now Alan's six boys — Michael 11 Nathan 9 Douglas 8 David 7 Scott 4 and Jonathan 3 are with me this Sunday The Osmond Boys - The Second Generation" Hope is an entertainment institution his “Road" pictures with cronies Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour are still among the most popular light comedies on the late movie and his interest in sports is keen A long time owner of “a piece of the Los Angeles Rams" Hope is an avid fan of professional football "Gee did you see that Mike Ditka last Monday night when the Bears were getting pushed around by the Lions? He was great I've got to write him a note what a coach! I love to see that kind of excitement in the game" When you have someone like Bob Hope in a conversation about football who could resist asking: How about a prediction on the Super Bowl?
