The board for county economic policy selected Nephi native Glenn W. Greenhalgh from 11 applicants to head the organization. Mr. Greenhalgh will replace Mark W. Fuhri-mawho was fired in December. The organization will be called the Comeconomi- c-development n, munity Economic Development Agency instead of the Juab County Economic Development Office. The activities of the liver generate a great deal of heat, making the organ an important factor in body temperature. Unlike any other organ, the liver has two sources of blood supply: the hepatic artery carrying oxygenated blood from the heart and the portal vein carrying food substances from the stomach and intestines. These vessels enter the glandular tissue of the liver and break up into minute sinusoids, which are microscopic spaces between rows of liver cells. Blood leaving the liver is collected in the hepatic veins, which join into a sub-Tane- Apartment - single hep.it ir vein that empties the blood into the inferior vena cava From here it is pumped to the lungs One of the most important functions of the liver is to form urea, a nitrogen substance derived from proteins in food Digestion breaks down the protein substances in food and the bloodstream curries them to the liver Here urea forms The liver releases urea into the bloodstream, which carries it to the kidneys The kidneys excrete the urea and it leaves the body in urine.
