Show BEAUTIFUL COUNTY - EXHIBITS AT STATE FAIR That this year's displays in the horticultural horti-cultural building at the Utah State fair to be held ten full days in Salt Lake, opening September 27th, and closing October 6th. will be the most beautiful and elaborate ever arranged by the individual in-dividual counties of the State is now assured. as-sured. Nearly a dozen of the largest counties i i the S'ate, including Davis, Weber, Silt Lake, Washington, and Box Elder counties, h ive appropriated sums ranging rang-ing from $1,000 up with which to instal han some and pretentious exhibits of frui s, grains, and vegetables in the horticultural ouilding. 1 The Uiah State fair has already be-cone be-cone famed throughout the country for t.ie marve ous be.uly pf these county exhibit-; and i his year they will be more elab r,t e t '.an ever. All the counties realize the immense benefits that accrue to them from these exhibits. Hundreds of head of blooded horses, cattle, cows, pigs, and poultry have already al-ready been entered in the livestock department de-partment for this year's fair, and the finest stock show of many years is assured. as-sured. The decision to hold the fair ten full days, opening on Monday, September 27, and closing on Wedne.-day, October ! 6th, is meeting with approval every- j where, and the State fair officials are providing a most elaborate program of free attractions for the thousands who I will visit the grounds daily. The grounds and buildings will be more beautifully decorated than ever, and a-mong a-mong the amusement attractions will be a daily balloon ascension by Lucielle Belmont, a strikingly young and pretty giri, who gets to record-breaking heights in a balloon and cuts loose and dece .ds to earth in three separate parachutes. There, will be automobile races the first three days of the fair with tuch drivers as Louis Disbrow, Johnny Raimey, Lee Gunnings, Eddie Hern, and other daredevils w;ho will drive the most famous automobile racing cars in the world. Entries for the harness and running races closed on Sept. 1st, and some unusually un-usually fine jpeed events are promised. Irwin Bros, great wild west show, presenting battle between cowboys and Indians, wild horse races, relay races, fancy and trick riding, broncho and steer riding, roping contests, and other wild west features, will give two shows diily. Many sensational aerial attractions attract-ions have been arranged. Reduced rates will be granted on all railroads and the admission to the fair this year will be 25 cents for aiults and 10 cents for children. |
