Show i my p I j ORANGEVILLE David lewkes and Miss Geneva Petersen, Pet-ersen, both of Orangeville, were the participants at a quiet wedding last Wednesday. Both are popular young people of the town and are extended the best of wishes by the townspeople. A shower was given for Mrs. Jewkes last night. Mrs. A. G. Jewkes jr., and children left yesterday for their home in Salt Lake after an extended visit with relatives rela-tives and friends here. Little Ruth Johnson, who was struck by lightning some ten days ago, is able to be about now. I Last Wednesday was Moffitt day in Orangeville the day being devoted to a big reunion of the Moffitts and their relatives. A great time was had, music and refreshments being important items on the program. The little girl of Vettie Cox was rendered unconsciou3 last Tuesday afternoon when a swing rope broke letting let-ting her fall to the ground. She was getting along nicely at last report. HUNTINGTON t The bees of the Huntington Bee Hive association are still busily buzzing. The ; Mohero, the Hothurmount, and the Sego swarms gave demonstrations and j were entertained at the home of Mrs. Ellis Johnson on the evening of August. i iilst. After an interesting program on-the on-the elaborately decorated lawn, luncheon, was served under the light of the fanciful fanci-ful Japanese lanterns. The tables were tastefully decorated with flowers in the Bee Hive colors and the emblematic place cards also harmonized in color. The tasty luncheon which was prepared by the girls of the three swarms with the view of filling required cells, was enlivened by toasts and anecdotes. . CLEVELAND Last Sunday was Primary conference and the children certainly did well with their parts which reflected great credit on themselves and teachers. Sisters Miller and Moffitt, stake counselor and aid, were in attendance. We were also favored Sunday with home missionaries, Elders Peterson and Wilcox of Castledale. Stake President Dorcas Olsen ard Counselor Evalyn Lowry visited the Young Ladies recently. Ed Jensen has returned from Salt Lake feeling greatly improved in health. Wm. Atwood and wife have recently returned from the Reservation where they visited relatives. Prince, the beautiful Clyde stallion owned by some of the people of Cleveland, Cleve-land, died very suddenly last week. John Thorderson and Mrs. James P. Johnson are entertaining their sister and cousin, the two Mrs. Johnson's, from Spanish Fork. John Andersou is enjoying the visit of his mother. Lewis Larson of Storrs is visiting relatives in Cleveland. Mr. Whimpey is entertaining this week at his home his sister, Mary Giltz and her daughter, Ann, of Ohio, his niece, Mrs. Cora Tillery of Salt Lake, and his nephew, Lemuel Whimpey, of Iowa. Wm. Giltz came down from Black Hawk Sunday to visit with his mother, whom he had not seen for two years. |
