Show ffoiiitty ' - EMERY The Relief Society Annual day was appropriately observed in Emery on Wednesday. Following is the program which commenced at 2 o clock p. m. : Singing, congregation; prayer, "History "His-tory of the Relief Society", Mr3. Alice Simons jn; trio, "Song of Wheat" Mes-dames Mes-dames Almira Brinkerhoff, Agnes John son, and Ada Petty; reading, "The Relief Re-lief Society" Mrs. Afnes Johnson; music, Mrs. Blanch Peterson, biographical biographi-cal sketch of the life of Pres. Emmeline B. Wells, Mrs. M-iv Olsen; song, Jennie Jen-nie Larsen; reading "The Genepis of the Relief Society" Mrs. Lavern Abelin; Incidents from earlv Church History, Mrs. LydiaPeacock;reading of financial reports of the Relief Society for the year 1914, by Sec'y Ada Petty; closing remarks by Bp. Brinkerhoff and Pres. Martina Anderson. After the program light refreshments were served, and in the evening an Apron dance was given. Elmer Olsen and Miss Ella Peacock, two of Emery's most popular young people, were joined in h ly -vedlock at the Manti Temple last week, and are still visiting relatives and friends on the other side of the mountain. Nephi Jorgensen and Miss Violet Pet-tey, Pet-tey, another pair of Emery's popular young folks, surprised their many friends by driving over to Castledale on Wednesday and having the nuptial knot tied. Hyrum Neilson and wife have return ed to Emery and expect to locate permanently. Mr. and Mrs. Henning Olsen are visiting in Emery. Mrs. Bertha Wilson of Salt Lake City is visiting with relatives and friends here. The Ferron Dramatic company put on an excellent vaudeville performance here Thursday night, but owing to the severe wind storm which came up in the afternoon, there was not a very large crowd out. They put on a dance Friday night, furnishing excellent music A number of our townspeople are preparing to go to San Juan county this spr ng to secure farms and possibly locate there. i |
