Show Some little friction wag in evidence at the district senatorial convention held at Green River when the Carbon county delegation (mostly Niel Madsen) undertook to run in a Green River man (Wm. Thompson) as candidate while the Emery county delegation was specifically instructed for J. W. Nixon. This unscrupulous movement, however, went down to defeat when Nixon retired re-tired and the Emery county delegation (with the exception of the Green River delegate) who was permitted to give his vote to his townsman) went solid for the other candidate, President L. H. Redd of Grayson, San Juan county, who thus secured the nomination. |
