Show Politics. During the approaching campaign, as during other campaigns it is the intention in-tention of the management of the Progress to remain absolutely neutral as far as politics are concerned, and while trying to give our readers the developments de-velopments of the campaign from a strictly news standpoint, to try hard not to let partisanship of any nature creep into the same. At the same time we believe there is nothing in such a stand to prohibit a personal inclination politically, a an adherence to one's personal convictions is rather a prais-worthy prais-worthy point in this land of frer-opiniors. frer-opiniors. The columns of the Progress have been open and free to all parties for the insertion therein ot notices of primaries pri-maries and conventions and the same privilege will be extended during thf campaign to brief notices of rallies, etc. It will also be our intention to give writeups of rallies, etc., in an unbiased un-biased manner. We do all this most willingly as we believe that it is the right and privilege of every citizen in Emery county to know when and where primaries and conventions are to be held that they may take the part in the same that their rights under the constitution guarantees them; and also that they may know what candidates are up and how they carne to be up; and what these same candidates and their friends have to say in their platforms and campaign cam-paign meetings that will probably be unattended by some readers. At the same time the columns of the Progress will be open to paid matter of various natures such as individual announcements and partisan literature, the same to be marked "advertisement." |
