Show ounty .Qj v . i ORANGE VI LLE The Relief Society was pleased and surprised in having four missionary sisters visit them, October 10th, at their program meeting: Sister Reynolds and Sister Dyches of Castledale and Sisters Hansen and Funk . of Ferron. The subject of the lecture was "The boy and his opinions." The sisters gave some most excellent talks on the subject. sub-ject. The Primary Fair held at Orangeville was a decided success, although the children handicraft was not as noticible i as it has been other years. A most j beautiful display of needle work was on exhibit. Mrs. Rhoda Robertson had a j very neat, tasty booth, where she sold ice cream which she donated to the i Primary. Mrs. Robertson is well I known for her active interest in public ' work as well as her many kind and i charitable actions. The .Ladies Aid Club has postponed ! their program meeting indefinitely. However, Brother Archer Willey will give a lecture on his travels in Europe ! at the meeting, when it is held, and i Bro. Frank Killian will also feive a talk on the necessity of a public cleaning up day. A fine musical program is being arranged for the occasion. A non-partisan meeting was held on the 10th for the purpose of nominating candidates for the town board. Following Follow-ing are the men selected, For president, Orson Miles; for members of the board, Howard Reid, Charles Stilson Wm. A Jewkes and David Tuttle. E. S. A. NOTES L. K. Stewart of Provo a popular piano tuner visited school Monday 1 morning. Mr. Stewart is a good pianist ! and gave us several gool selections. ! Comes in very handy on Monday when : I you feel blue, doesn't it, students? Brother J. W. Johnson visited us this week. He arranged his affairs in the school prior to his leaving for Provo where he will attend school, Mrs. Ada Petty of Emery was also a visitor Wednesday. New faces appear at intervals in our school. The elocution class is preparing a drama entitled ''Snow Ball." The students of the class are contesting for the parts. The ones most qualified will receive the parts. The play is under the direction of Miss Palmer and will undoubtly be a good production, Tne sound of the "Navajo Princess" can be heard every morning from 8 o'-cluck o'-cluck till 9. There are 40 members in the first year class this season and 11 in the third years. There are many who begin but few who remain to the end. Our first examinatio i are occuring this week. Better work has bee n done this first montn than in any year preceding. |
