Show CLOSING WEEK OF CASTLEDALE CASTLE-DALE DISTRICT SCHOOL The Castledale public schools have I been above the standard the passt year and people generally are very well pleased with the work the teachers and I s' udents have done. There is however I a little f iult to fin! with the patrons of the school for not supporting them with their presence at school occasionally. tor weeks the schools have been planning their closing programs and no enerjy has been waste I in their efforts to making the closing days pleasant ones The first entertainment was given Wednesday evening in the social hall, when the four lower departments demonstrated de-monstrated their ability to entertain trHr friends and parents. The enthusiastic enthusi-astic way the little ones took hold of their parts was ar inspiration indeed. One of the most interesting features was the "Sehool Days" given by Miss Brown's beginners. One little girl was chosen as teacher and the rest took their places as pupils. The realistic way in which the little players did their parts in singing, reading and reciting was very gooJ. The two little Wall girls, Ramona and Ida, sang a beautiful little song. The entertainment was very well attended, at-tended, but the play given by Mr. Wall's department Thursday night was not so well attended. The play " Vhat's)Next"was an excellent excel-lent comedy and the players did remarkably re-markably well. Mr. Wall in the role of Phineas Poke proved himself to be perfectly at home, and was the cause of much laughter. Mr. Acord in the role of Moses Madder, the villian, did very well. Willie Nillie. the dude played play-ed by Miss Louise Beebe, is worthy of special mention. Hughie Braudon. the Injin killed; Miss Cloe Smith, as Miss Polly Polk and Fenton Williams played their parts very well. The proceeds of the play are to be spent in building up the school library and the people did not give them the support they ought to have had. |
