Show ORANGE VI LLE The 4th, our glorious nations birthday, has come and gone, making another number to the now advanced figures ! since the birth of the greatest nation 1 on the earth. The loyalty of tne people ! was fittingly demonstrated by talk and . song, and the stirring rn :sic of : he b 11 d. The most enjoyable number was the "Star Spangled Ba..r.er," sung by a : ! stage full of children, each one waving j a flag. The committees worked with a ! vim and every thing went to show that j their labor was crowned with success. ! The hall never looked better. The ' , sports never draggjJ and with a better display of prizes th-in ever before and plenty of friends to carry them through. ; Each one had and kept toe spirit some more spirits than others. The general committee feels to thank the sub-corn- 1 mittees for the excellent support that 1 j was given to make the day a success, j I Mrs. Wm. Fail has b"Cn visiling with Mrs. Geo. Fullmt-r at the Big Spring ranch for some time. 1 . Mr. and Mrs. De Vere Chiids have 1 returned to their home in Lo:i where 1 ; they have begun housekeeping. 1 ! Mr. Sanri ;1 Jewkes and family came; ! over from Price for breakfast the: 1 morning of the fih. Quite a change ! from the old method, isn't it? Mrs.: Jewkes is still with us visiting relatives and friends. She met with the club; Wednesday. Her lmsban.1 returned to ' Price Monday, to attend to business. j ; Sev. ral sheep shearers have retui nod and more are exp 'Cted soon. As a whole they are pretty much discouraged j with their profession, so many draw-j backs to get and keep the green bacls. ; Last Sunday (fast day) there- were seven babies blessed. The mothers Were Mesdames Fred W. R .-id. GardJe.vkes, ! E igar Je.vkts, Ort Mdee jr., David Judd, Elgin Killiau and Henry Lar.imie. I Mr. Jesse D. Jewkes made a fiving visit to Orangeville Wednesday lust go i ing through the county in behalf of the Midland Trail. : : Miss Flora Tultle is suffering with ; : an abcess on the neck. 1 I 1 Our townsman, veteran of the Civil j war, whose notification came too l ite 1 1 accompany the Soldiers to the gre it Gettysburg encampment, went on toi Pre ton, Idaho, for a visit with his j children. Mrs, Fail, his wife, wa , j phoned t) accompany him which she aid leaving he re on the 4th. They expect to make an extended visit while gone. This was a great disappointment to Mr. Fail, who w.:s not onl anxious to visit the old stum;. ing ground along with his comrades of the past 1 ut looked forward to the pleasure of a visit with ! his si.-ter whom he has not seen for j fifty years and who has been making preparations for a visit with her brother, telling him by letter that she had his bed ready lor him and h id planned a good supper. Still, wit 1 all this, Mr. I ail's fi i. nds are glad it happened as it did, as they feel t ut, in his present ; state of health, he would probably j have been one of til isj who have nude 1 it their la.-it res' ing place, an 1 as it is 1 they are sure he will have a good time with his children and feel more sure of enjoying his company here at home again. .Miss Lyle.s Mollit whu recently joined the Walter Stock co npiny at Provo has we have been told, met her "Prince Charming" and at last report has "Mrs. " added to her name. Success and happiness be yours, Lyl.is. A host of our young married people have taken advantage of the Limes and hied to Salt Lake for their Miinmers ouung, and mayhap to the sights of the j Wild West show. At least one of iheir I number has done so apparently, as he : w is asked a catechism ot questions ! by tne chief of palice, the result lie I ing, that the name, Mr. Tuttle; residence, resi-dence, Orangeville; occupation, taking in the sights and having a good time; age, two years appear on the Salt Lake police blotter. This is one example ex-ample of the wild west. In (he east such youngsters would have to wear a tag but in the west they are capable of answering any question given them. The Club expects to have an ou ing Wednesday next up the creek. They wish to start early as possiole in the morning, take picnic and sta. the day. Aa invitation is extended to all wdio wish to join.
